Reflexology is a therapy that is based on the the theory that different points on the feet and hands correspond with different areas of the body. Reflexologists work these points and areas these are known as reflex points., Many factors in life cause stress, anxiety, illness and injury to the body hindering the energy flow. These imbalances can be felt on the hands and feet in the reflexes and through applying pressure with fingers and thumbs tension can be released and congestion eased. As this hand and foot reflexology stimulation occurs deposits held in the reflex points that feel like small crystals can be broken down, therefore improving circulation taking blood flow with its vital nutrients to the area of imbalance and cleansing the body of any waste products lying stagnant in the area.
Foot and hand reflexology is a non-intrusive complimentary therapy which is suitable for most people. However, occasionally there may be times when it's not appropriate to treat or permissions maybe needed from your doctor. At your initial consultation, i as a Level 5 qualified reflexologist will complete a detailed health questionnaire and if there are no contraindications (reasons why we cannot treat) a tailormade treatment plan will be drawn up for use in subsequent sessions.
